VPA contest finalist

I’ve finalled in Romance Writers of Australia’s Valerie Parv Award. Happy dance time!!

First place wins Valerie as a mentor for a year. Wonderful for me if I win, possibly scary for Valerie if I do, lol.

Regardless of what happens (the placings are announced at RWA’s awards dinner at the August conference) I’m thrilled to have made the top 6 of 54 entries, and wish my fellow finalists (Jillian Jones, Paquita Fadden, Ree Andersson, Sarah Hartland, Stella Quinn) all the best.

  1. That’s fantastic news!! Congratulations!

  2. Well done, AJ! What writing led to your nomination? Is it available to read?

    • At this point I am unpublished, Karen. But I will be screaming it from the rafters when I do get a contract =) The manuscript is an outback cozy mystery.

  3. Awesome!! Go the Permians!

  4. Hey, that’s great news, AJ! I hope you win. I knew Valerie Parv through SF fandom, many years ago. A nice lady and I’m sure she will have lots to teach you.

    • Thank you, Sue. Valerie is lovely and I know past mentees have had a wonderful experience so keeping everything crossed.

  5. Congrats. And good luck.

  6. I second Marnie’s comment – go the Permiens!
