Funny police report worth following

Have you heard of the Flathead Beacon? I hadn’t until last week when I was introduced to the news service via another blog. As a result, I am now following it’s Police Blotter (Flathead County Sheriff’s and Kalispell Police Reports).

Funnily enough, it has nothing to do with research for my mystery novels, and everything to do with having a good laugh. The Police Blotter (which covers Northwest Montana) is written by staff writer Andy Viano. He has a knack for delivering the reports with a twist of humour. Mind you, he has great material to work with (you couldn’t make this stuff up).

Here’s an example:

12:35 a.m. Police were alerted to an “aggressively loud” disturbance that included a man yelling, “I’m going to kill you all.” When contacted, the man and woman playing Dungeons and Dragons apologized and said they would keep it down in the future.

1:29 a.m. A man in the background of a bizarre 911 call kept shouting “I look like an alien” and laughing.

8:26 a.m. Someone wanted their neighbor to stop screaming.

5:22 p.m. “Big dudes with tats” were fighting in the street.

7:32 p.m. A passer-by was spooked after a man gave them a strange look.

10:39 p.m. A caller was suspicious of the man walking around the neighborhood with a flashlight on.

10:45 p.m. The person called back to report the man was just looking for his dog.

10:46 p.m. The man found his dog.

I hope you got a laugh from this as well.

Do you have a site you follow because you know it will make you a smile?

The site that I used to love is 27bslash6.com it’s just hilarious what his guy does!! He puts up his email correspondence with people and he is usually being a complete fool about it! Like trying to pay a bill with a drawing of a spider, so he attaches the spider to the email and values it at the exact amount of the bill, so the company emails back and says they don’t accept such things as payment and then he emails them and asks for his spider back so the company rep has to reattach the spider to the email and send it back! LOL hilarious.

  2. Not sure I’d like that site. That kinda stuff makes me cringe in a not nice way. I can’t help thinking of the poor person who has to take time out of their work day to deal with that – and they probably think he has mental health issues so they probably take ages trying to be careful in replying to them, or else they are frustrated with all the people who won’t pay bills and try to get out of it or… But that’s just me, lol.

haha! I never thought about it that way. But I also have never thought that what he posts is real either. But even if it’s not real you still might get the same cringe. Not all of his posts are like that but a lot of them do contain email correspondence of that nature.

      • It reminds me of the “fails” the Hub and Barbarians watch on TV – you know the sort, bike crashes, or young men doing something stupid like jumping from a roof onto a trampoline into a pool, or other crashing fails. I just can’t watch them. They laugh at the stupid things people do, I just feel the pain and cringe.

  3. I could see my group yelling “I will kill you all” while playing a game. Yup.
