Giving Moore, Part 2

You may remember on the 6 May I posted about (then) Captain Tom Moore who decided to raise £1000 for NHS Charities to help fight coronavirus by completing 100 laps of his garden on his walker before the end of April when he turned 100 (10 laps of the 25m garden a day). You can read about it here.

The significance of what (now) Colonel Tom achieved is still being announced…the Guinness World Records have awarded him the most money raised by an individual through a walk.

Colonel Tom Moore's millions are already bringing joy to patients

Probably more significantly for him, Colonel Tom is set to be Sir Tom after UK’s Prime Minister made a special nomination for him to be knighted.

Still an inspiration.

  1. I did read about it in the (online) newspapers, and that he raised a LOT more than his goal. What an inspiring man! I hope they don’t keep him waiting for his knighthood, which he deserves.

    • I hope they don’t keep him waiting either. I mean he really deserves it and he is 100…
