I started to write my post for Friday (on a different topic to this) and it happened again. My computer flickered and went to the blue screen of death, at which point I had to shut-down and in frustration I walked away.
This has been happening more and more often to my laptop. It started off on occasion and now it is happening at least 2 or 3 times a week. I guess I’ll have to ring for tech support, because I’m starting to lose the last bit of whatever I’m working on – like the blog post I’d started to write! Not to mention the frustration of having to go through the process of getting started again (it can take a couple of goes).
Do you ever get the dreaded blue screen of death?

Sooooo my comment glitched so hopefully this isn’t posted twice LOL
My personal laptop has had a lot of rest this year since I had a work device as well. Thank God I’ve never had the blue screen! *knock on wood*
I hope yours is fixed quickly!! Will you get a new device?

I’ve no idea what will happen. I still have warranty (I paid for extended thank goodness) so will call them this week now I have a little bit of time to deal with it and see what they say.

Actually, I didn’t think this happened anymore. Yikes.

I wish it didn’t, Jacqui! Sadly it most certainly still happens and at the most random (to me anyway) of times. Fingers crossed tech are helpful when I call this week.

The last, I mean LAST, laptop I had started making Star Wars space battle noises, that got slower and slower until it quit.
Since then I have given up on laptops and gone old school, a desktop.
Never got the blue screen of death, on any of the 12 or 14 computers I have trashed, I mean owned.

Wow, never?! That’s amazing. I am pretty sure I have had it at some point with every computer I have owned. Mind you, nothing like what has been happening with this one. For the last couple of decades I’ve only had laptops (the Hub has a desktop).

If it’s happening a lot, it may be time for a new one…

This one is only new (about 3 years old), so I hope I don’t have to get another one.

Yikes, that’s not good. When my computer started failing, it was time to replace. I had had it for almost a decade at that point, so I was due for a new one. It sounds like yours is new enough that it’s not time to replace yet.

Exactly, Liz. My last Dell ran like a gem until it was too old for the software to run properly (it was really slow), and this one is only just over 3 years old.
