The Enlighten Festival is one of my favourite times of the year. Amazing light projections and installations fill the Parliamentary Triangle, covering buildings (such as Parliament House, old Parliament House and Questacon) and turning them into vibrant canvases. With live music, performances by roving artists and many other attractions there is something for everyone.
Accompanying the festival are the Noodle Markets. Set up in the Triangle, the open-air markets have a buzzing atmosphere. There are many stalls to choose from representing a smorgasbord of cultures – from Thai to Vietnamese to Malaysian.
The whole family love going to Enlighten and we make a night of it, going before dusk to stroll through the noodle markets, each of us choosing the food that most tempts us. Then, as the sun sets we walk the Triangle to enjoy the light installations. It’s a wonderful evening and I can’t wait (it happens in March each year, specifically 2 – 18 March 2018).
