In 2020 I’m answering a list of 52 journal questions. Read about it here.
What fictional character would you most like to be?
My younger teen self would have wanted to be Hermione Granger (Harry Potter by JK Rowling)
Hermione owns her geekness. She sticks up for herself. She’s tough. Empathetic. She has amazing abilities and even more amazing adventures.

I honestly have never been able to answer this question, or the ones that ask which books have influenced my life. I don’t connect with books on that level I guess.

It’s a really tough one. I had to think about it a bit, because it isn’t something I am all that comfortable with.

Hermione is definitely a character to be, though I’m not sure I’d like to go through everything she has to! Still, you wouldn’t have a story without that, and she does develop because of it, doesn’t she? And lives happily ever after…

I guess it’s the tough things that shape who we are – and those tough things certainly shaped Hermione.

Good choice. I totally would have wanted to be Hermione if she had been around when I was a teen. Lately, I’ve been reading a lot of shifter fiction, and what I’d love to be is a dragon shifter.

A dragon shifter would be a pretty kick-butt character to be…so long as you can control when you shift!

That suits me. My younger self wanted to be Xina the Warrior Princess. You and I both like strong, aggressive women.

She was pretty kick butt, too, Jacqui.

Fun question! I wish my younger self would have had Hermione to admire! And since I can’t think of any books other than Harry Potter right now, Minerva McGonagall is pretty great. Transfiguration could be awesome. Maybe I could be a younger version of her 🙂

Jenny, I didn’t think about considering younger versions of characters. Yes, McGonagall would have been a great choice. She is kinda like the older version of Hermione.
