In 2020 I’m answering a list of 52 journal questions. Read about it here.
Thing you love about this time of your life.
I love that I am starting to claim back my life. The Barbarians are getting older and my volunteering roles have been pared back (and at some point in 2021 should be down to sporadic).
We won’t be empty nesters for many years yet, but the light at the end of the tunnel is starting to flicker. I’m currently the president of the Parents and Citizens Association at Jeckle’s school, but after 3 years I am stepping down at the AGM next year. Then I will just be a helper as needed, with no ongoing role.
I am sure there will be other things that will need my time – as a parent there always is. But just being able to step back as the Barbarians become more independent is refreshing (okay, maybe a bit stressful at times, lol).
What do you love about this time in your life?

Honestly I wish I was in a much different place in my life at almost 34- But here I am! I do love my job. Most days LOL. That’s what I love about this stage, my job and my work family. Its what keeps me going!

As work takes up the majority of our time, it’s good you are happy with yours! If you are miserable at work, life can be tough.

That does feel good, doesn’t it–reclaiming your life. Lovely.

It really does. Even just little bits makes a difference.

That’s great. You’ll miss this time, but there are good things about taking a less active role, too.

Oh, I know I will miss it, but I am looking forward to being less involved 🙂
