In 2020 I’m answering a list of 52 journal questions. Read about it here.
Write about someone you admire.
The people I admire wouldn’t appreciate me writing about them here. Needless to say, they are just ordinary people who have overcome adversity with resilience and determination, a positive attitude and a smile.
But aren’t they the traits of most people who you admire?
I think the reason you admire them is because when you have someone who is ordinary (like yourself) and they manage to do extraordinary things, it gives us hope and inspiration that we can do those extraordinary things as well.
The extraordinary things come in all sorts of guises – the people we choose to admire usually have achieved something we aspire to, or would hope to be able to do in the same situation.
Have I got it right, or do you admire someone for different reasons?

That’s a good reason to admire someone.

I tend to admire people who are genuine in their kindness and interest in others.

They are also really good reasons to admire someone.

I think you nailed it! I also really admire perseverance, even if it doesn’t require overcoming a major obstacle. Sometimes the minor ones are obstacle enough 🙂

Oh, that’s so true, Jenny. The little things can be hard to constantly battle.
