In 2020 I’m answering a list of 52 journal questions. Read about it here.
Where were you ten years ago?
Ten years ago I was living in a different state. I’m a born and bred Queenslander, but the Hub’s work brought us to Canberra in the ACT.
I have lived all over Queensland, but this is the first time I have lived outside my home state.
I’ve gone from this life:
To this life:
Hence the reason my Barbarians tell me I am a lizard. My sub-tropical upbringing has not prepared me for the cold of Canberra.
Where were you ten years ago?

LOL I would never describe any part of Australia as cold but that’s because I have ice in my veins and am used to windchills of like -25 haha
10 years ago, I was packing up the first sublet I had ever had! I had just graduated from my undergrad (in June) and was working on getting documents ready to move to South Korea for the first time (that would happen in November 2010). I was wrapping up my last week or so at my job where I had been for almost 4 years and saying goodbye to the city I was born and mostly raised in to go live with my parents in the house they had just moved into a few months back for the few months before Korea (At that time I was under the impression it would just be a few weeks). 10 years ago was an exciting time of transition for me.

I think you’d do well in interior Tasmania. They often get snow in the summer months. Not sure of temps, but surely that must be cold enough for you! (It’s about the same distance from the equator as you are, and the centre is very mountainous).
Gosh, that would have been a very memorable time for you, any transition is.

Oooo that does sound nice!! I love me some cool weather! Haha like 10-15° is perfection!
And it was very memorable! As I’m sure this year will be too 😂

I live about 6 miles away from where I lived in 2010. Not much of a move, really.

No, it isn’t, but I’d happily still be living where we were ten years ago if it hadn’t been for the Hub needing to move for work. I *loved* our house, its location, being close to family…
