Feel Good Reality TV #2: Lego Masters

The other day I talked about why we need feel good reality TV. I mentioned there were two which have just started airing and are heartwarming, fun shows. This post is about Lego Masters.

Lego Masters is a competition to build the best lego structures to win a $100,000 prize. There are a mixed group of competitors (they are in teams of 2)…a married couple, grandmother (71) and grandson (17) who are the oldest and youngest competitors, friends, workmates etc.

The competitors are people with design and building ability, creativity and imagination, happy and friendly and are nice to their partner and the other competitors…and an absolute love of lego.

The host is Hamish Blake, an Australian comedian, who brings warmth, charm and humour to the show and the judge is Ryan “The Brickman” McNaught – the only certified official Lego builder in the Southern Hemisphere – who is funny and engaging.

The structures the competitors build (with no little booklet telling them how) are amazing. Ordinary people building extraordinary things (see below). I highly recommend it. Have you watched Lego Masters?

I have not heard of or seen this show but omg now I want to!!

  2. This is cool. I know Legoland looks like (but isn’t–haha) built from Legos. These are amazing.

    • And these are just regular folk who happen to have a passion for lego. I still enjoy playing with it although my Barbarians are a bit old for Mum to join in with them.

  3. That’s the sort of reality show I’d enjoy.
