Art in miniature

I am always awed by people who have incredible artistic talent. But to then have that talent and apply it in miniature…wow.

Salavat Fidai is one such artist. A sculptor, Salavat uses a craft knife to sculpt the tips of pencils. Yes, you did read that correctly – the tips of pencils.

I have created one sculpture in my life, one I am inordinately proud of, but it is quite large, and I struggled with it.

Here are some examples of his work. If you are as impressed as I am, you can follow him on instagram: https://www.instagram.com/salavat.fidai/

Are you artistic? If so, what is your medium?

I have seen these before and I LOVE them! I can’t get enough! So beautiful!

I am not artistic at all haha

    • They are beautiful. And I think you are artistic…have you not looked at your nails?

  2. How do they do that??? Yikes.

  3. Oh wow. I don’t think I’d have the patience to complete something like that, but I am in awe of those that do.

  4. that’s amazing! I’ve done a couple of oil paintings, but they’re not very good. I enjoyed it, though!

    • Having fun is the most important part, I think, Jenny. And I bet they are better than you think they are.

Oh yeah! 😂😂 I guess that counts lol!! Right now my nails are horrible. I buffed them too much and damaged them so I’m paying the price and having to let them grow all the way out to new from tip to cuticles. I have learned my lesson.

Haha I’m not sure! My pinkie finger nails both ripped off today. Right down to the skin. 😰😰 I want to maybe try my acrylics on my real nails because my practice fingers are lame. Maybe just one haha

  7. Errk, that sounds nasty, GF. Ouch!

Yeeeaaahhhh I think I got a little too carried away with buffing the surface using my electric drill lol but they are growing out nicely! A few more weeks I think and it should be all grown out!
