Blue tongue
The photo below is of an Eastern Blue Tongue (Tiliqua scincoides). I took the photo today as she was scurrying to hide behind the pot plant you can see top right (in the neighbour’s yard). At some point she must have been frightened and dropped her tail as a new, stumpier one has grown back.…
Puddles!
It rained on the weekend and we had puddles! It probably seems funny to get excited by puddles, but after years of el nino drought (which is why Australia burnt so well last summer) it is delightful to have a la nina spring and to see enough rain fall to make puddles. I can’t remember…
Giant mosquito
At the moment, thanks to some unseasonably (but gratefully received) late winter rain and slightly warmer weather, we are inundated by giant mosquitoes. Except they’re not.
