In 2020 I’m answering a list of 52 journal questions. Read about it here.
Something you are excited for…
I’m always excited for spring to arrive (I am not a winter gal), but this year I am more excited than usual because I have spent the last week or so planting over 250 spring bulbs.
I have planted ranunculi, freesia, dutch iris, anemone, grape hyacinth, sparaxis, daffodil, ixia and spring stars.
I hope my gardens look happy and colourful in the spring. I can’t wait to see.
Do you plant spring bulbs?

OOOO the guy would love your garden!! You’ll have to show pictures when it’s in bloom!! I’m actually really happy spring is here now. Like I know I’m in isolation but I actually went shopping this morning, walking both ways of course instead of transit, my window is open, I’m gonna paint my nails outside! Oh goodness I’m so happy for SUNSHINE!

I will definitely show photos – assuming they grow!

That is absolutely gorgeous. My garden looks nothing like this though there is a bit of coloring blooming.

That photo is from Floriade – a flower festival that sadly isn’t happening this year thanks to covid. But I really hope I have a teeny bit of that in my garden come spring.

I’ve planted spring bulbs, which I also love, but never 250 of them! Go big or go home, as the expression goes. I hope your efforts are rewarded with a bounty of blooms!

And I’m not sure I’ll ever plant that many in one go again! It took about 4 days of planting – literally back breaking work, lol. But I hope they are stunning and then each year I can just add a little more to it.

Spring isn’t the big deal here that it is elsewhere. We’re anticipating the soon-to-start May gray. Followed by June gloom. Woo-hoo!

Oh no! I thought you’d get sunny skies and flowers and some heat come spring? Mind you, when I lived in the tropics I was still hugely excited about the arrival of spring.
