Let’s get physical…

With everyone stuck at home it can be a bit tricky to exercise. Jeckle’s High School are posting “Get Up and Move” sessions every day as part of their schooling.

I thought it might be fun to give you some ideas for you to get up and move…

Learn to yoga…

Learn a dance. Here’s the Gangnam Style (that craze from about 7yrs ago)…

Learn to dance Gangnam Style. This was all the craze about 7 years ago…

Want some cardio…

Or something that’s a little fun…

Thriller! Okay, it’s not as easy to follow, but it’s one of my favourite scenes from this movie…

Are you still getting up and moving?

Ooo awesome choices! I started yoga with Adriene with that video!! Been doing her videos for about 5 years now!

I’m trying to really focus on my movement. I haven’t been sleeping very well lately and I think it’s just that I’m not moving enough. I go for a nice walk in the morning before I settle into work and then try to get yoga in before dinner but honestly yoga gets pushed. Last night I did it after dinner and that was better! I might do that moving forward. And throwing in a run here and there as well haha

    • Good on you, GF. I think it is much easier to keep moving if you make it part of your routine. I walk the dog every day, but as he’s old it’s only slow and not far. I was going to the gym but it’s closed under lockdown – I still need to work out how to get more exercise into my day to replace that!

  2. I love Yoga with Adriene! Lately I’ve been missing dance-type workouts. I’d love to learn to dance Gangam style – Hehehe! When my sprained ankle gets better, I’m thinking of doing this and signing up for the 30 day trial of Body Groove. Dancing around always makes me feel better!

    • I love to dance, too, Deb. Maybe that’s what I should do? I was also thinking of digging out the old wii and the exercise board that goes with it and starting that up again. I used to enjoy some of those exercise games.

  3. Yes, I’m getting out for walks. I can only be in the house so long before I just need to get out for any reason.

  4. I understand completely, Liz. I spend some time in the garden every day watering plants and filling up the bird bath, plus pegging out the washing. Plus walking the dog. I do them all at different times so I am in and out all the time.

  5. These look like fun! I try to be fairly active, but more dancing would no doubt improve my mental state these days!

    • I like dancing. It doesn’t feel like exercise and at home it doesn’t matter how bad I look *grin*

  6. Wow, you’re serious about not getting stuck to the couch – way to go!

    • Hah, I’m not doing all of this. But I am walking the dog every day and dancing around the house an awful lot.

  7. I spend half the week looking after my Mum, so the exercise I get is a long walk when I can finally leave the house and enjoy the sun. I’ve been training myself to take along my own lunch and a thermos, plus a towel to sit on(which goes straight in the wash when I get home).

    • I love going for a walk, but that’s a great idea to take a picnic with you, Sue. Just made me realise that usually that’s how we spend our Easter (bushwalking, camping, picnicking or some combination of). Not this year, sadly.
