Ludo is coming

In June last year we said our forever goodbyes to our very loved and loving Biggles. Our hearts will never be the same, but we are ready to welcome a new member into the family, Ludo.

Ludo is a Tamaruke and was born just before Christmas, meaning he will be ready to collect in mid-Feb(ish) (about 8 weeks of age). The breeder doesn’t let you know which of the litter is yours specifically until they’ve had their 6 week vet check (just in case). But we do know he’s a miniature in size (8 to 12 kilos / 17 to 26lb), male and caramel in colour.

Expect a lot of puppy posts this year. But who doesn’t love puppies?

  1. Have a wonderful time with your new family member, whoever he is! I have only had a puppy once, but she was a wonderful dog, so smart and loving. We had her for 16 years. She was a Jack Russell, a rescue dog found dumped on the Flemington Racecourse soon after the school holidays. I was working at Flemington SC at the time, and the school bursar gave her to me. Her name was Jenna, and we still miss her!

    • We had a Jack Russell many years ago (he was actually a cross with a fox terrier). Gixer was a great dog – always happy!

  2. Oooooooo my gosh soooo cute AJ!!!! I’m coming to visit to play with him!! 😍😍😍

    • Well, we’ll have him at least 14 years, right, so I am sure you’ll get here in that time, right? πŸ˜‰

  3. Oooh! How lovely! Happy for you guys.

  4. Hope your Ludo is a good one.

  5. Have you picked out a name yet? Or do you plan to get to know him first?

    • Name totally picked already. We had a name before we had photos, lol. He will be Ludo – means “to play” in latin and is the name of an adorable character in the movie “Labyrinth”.

  6. Congratulations. Of course, Biggles was unique but this pup will ultimately bring joy to your lives (and to start with, frustration and mutterings of ‘why did we do this to ourselves?’). xxx As Donna Tartt said ‘there’s nothing that can’t be improved by the presence of a dog.’

    • Oh, yes, Shayne. He’ll never replace Biggles, but he will become another beloved member of the family. It’s going to be funny, because the Barbarians have no idea what a puppy is going to be like!! Trying to warn them but I don’t think they get it. Will only take the first time of something of theirs being chewed for them to listen to my instruction to get everything off the ground *grin*

  7. Puppy pictures welcome…

  8. Adorable! I’m happy you will again be a dog owner!

    • Thanks, Jenny. We have all missed having a furry one in the house. It’s the first time in nearly 25 years there hasn’t been a pet in our house.
