Recently I talked about how Christmas has crept up on me. Since then I have I have been making good headway into my shopping list. I love buying presents for other people and making sure it’s something they really want (mostly successful).
The only person I have trouble thinking up gifts for is myself. The only thing I ever desperately want is more time – funnily enough, it’s the one thing no-one ever seems to be able to give me. So when the Barbarians or The Hub want ideas, I’m always at a loss. I always get a specific calendar for Christmas but other than that… I don’t really need anything.
What do you want for Christmas?

This year, I honestly didn’t want anything. I just wanted a few very specific nail art items and didn’t want to deal with extra things I would never use. My mom has a knack of buying things she’s SOOOO proud about which people don’t like lol happy that I suggested a gift free holiday. Especially now that its probably going to happen without me.

I hope you are able to travel – that would be all the Christmas present you need! I bet your brother is happy you suggested gift free as well 😉

I’m suddenly having to think about Christmas gifts since my friends are now planning a gathering, with the easing of Victorian restrictions. We do a picnic in the park, and there are only eight of us anyway, but I hadn’t expected it would happen this year. I don’t celebrate it myself, wrong religion, but I give myself birthday gifts, as I have done every year since the time everyone gave me socks or the equivalent, except one friend who gave me a much-appreciated bookshop gift card. This year my birthday happened during lockdown, and I had family commitments anyway, so I spoiled myself with a Body Shop order. When the box arrived, I could smell the soaps and shower gel through it – bliss!

I imagine you have gift giving around Sept? What a lovely gift to get yourself! Many years ago a friend gave me a perfume from the Body Shop and it was a favourite! I hope you have a lovely time with your friends and I am so happy for you guys that Victoria is open again (our borders with you opened today!).

Some years, I love Christmas shopping and have lots of ideas for everyone. Some years I don’t. This is one of those “don’t” years. The one thing I would like to have is a squirrel-proof birdfeeder to thwart a very hungry and persistent squirrel!

Oh, I know squirrel proof bird feeders exist because there are possum-proof bird feeders. Maybe start dropping hints to your family and you might have a wonderful Christmas 😉

I ask for a gift card to the bookstore I frequent. More books for my ereader. It makes things simple.

Books are the one thing you are guaranteed to find under the Christmas tree in our house. All of those have been bought already. They really are the best present!

Haha yes he is very happy! He gets so stressed over it every year. We are still waiting to see if we can, but right now not looking too good. We will see 😉
