Shed the stress

As I said in my 2021 wrap up post, I found I enjoyed answering the weekly Journal Question I posted (mostly) on Friday’s. For 2021 I thought I would do something similar. This year I am going to follow a list that is a little different.

It’s a little hard to explain what this list is about, except to say it will push my comfort zone in a different way to the 2020 list. The 2020 list was a bit more about me, the 2021 list is a bit more about using my blog.

Doesn’t sound that exciting, does it?

But I hope you will enjoy what the list has to offer, and what I will offer because of it. Plus I wanted something very different to last year.

Shed the stress.
To start the weekly posts the list asks what you are stressed about in tackling the list and to write about it.

Nine Ways Mindfulness Reduces Stress - Mindful
From: Mindful

I had to scan the list to work out what might stress me (last year I tried not to read ahead so I was writing fresh). I saw a few words that stood out that have me a little worried.

There are a few weeks that will require me to learn some new skills to be able to post, and some others that will really push my comfort zone. I think I am more anxious about those pushing my comfort zone than learning a new skill.

Learning a new skill just needs time (okay, I am a bit short on that, but I’ll get there), while comfort zone means feeling awkward and self-conscious. Let’s see if you can pick those weeks!

Pushing yourself out of your comfort zone is one way to learn and grow, though, so maybe it will end up having a positive effect on me while (fingers crossed) giving you something fun to read. I hope you enjoy my weekly posts as I work my way through the topics.

Have you ever followed a list of topics for your blogging endeavours?

I have followed one! I think that’s how you started doing yours haha! And I’m actually thinking of starting a new one soon! But I also feel like I’m implementing so many changes in my life right now that maybe I should take it easy for a bit haha

    • It is how I started, lol. I can blame you 😉 You do have a lot going on in your life at the moment, GF, although you are sort of following one at the moment (Sunday scribbles).

  2. The comfort zone can sometimes be difficult to escape. I have followed month long prompts for my blog, but they were more lighthearted. I am currently doing a 52 week writing class with weekly prompts. It has definitely knocked me out of my comfortable places.

    • Oh wow, 52 weeks of weekly writing prompts. That’s commitment. I’m not sure I could do that (the blog is a little different because I’m not accountable to anyone but me). Well done!

  3. I don’t take too well to outside topics. I find that I have enough to write about without looking elsewhere, so I don’t. So, I’ve never done something like this. Good luck. I’m sure you’ll learn lots of great things this year.

    • You certainly have a lot of fodder for your blog posts. I think I decided to do this again this year because it really will push me to do things I’ve not done before in blog posts. We’ll see how I go.

  4. I hate being outside of my comfort zone. Thank goodness I just need to read about it!

    • Me too, Jacqui, but I think this will push me in directions I probably need to be pushed. I guess I’ll find out!

  5. Haha yeah Sunday Scribbles is good! Its not a list, but its good. I’m not sure what I will write for this week’s word 🤭 I usually write it Saturday but I have no ideas right now lol

I have one list set aside “40 letters” which looks good and emotionally challenging haha might start it soon. I’m not sure if I’ll be doing AtoZ this year though!

    • Can you mould “40 letters” into A to Z? I think you probably burnt yourself out iwth your last few A to Z’s. They were pretty intense challenges for you.

  6. This is intriguing, Anita! I’ll look forward to seeing what you do with it.

    • Thanks, Sue. I’m going to have to be a little more organised for this one (because it needs it) otherwise you won’t see anything, lol.

  7. Oooo that’s interesting! The list of letters I chose is only 30 days long so it could work… idk focusing on something else non-blog related first possibly!

  8. I haven’t really followed a list of blogging topics, but I’ve given myself annual challenges a few times. Not this year, however, except for generally building more discipline into my life. Maybe that will encourage me to get outside my comfort zone 🙂 Good luck, and I look forward to your posts!

    • Are you thinking of A to Zing this year? Not a list per se, but if you have a theme it is list-like 🙂

  9. Not entirely sure yet…possibly a devotional booklet.

  10. honestly I probably won’t post about it 🤭
