To-do list fail

Every day I write out a list of things I need to do. It has things that are scheduled as well as the tasks I need to do.

Today was a complete to-do list fail. My lists are usually longer than practical, but while I don’t get everything done I always cross some things off (I usually have them prioritised so the important things get done). But not today. Today I didn’t cross a single thing off my list.

It’s a bit of a reflection of how my day went I guess. But nothing?! Crossing things off the list is satisfying, like a little reward.

I did work on three things on my list, but none of them were completed (not even close I hate to admit). At least tomorrow is a new day!

Do you have daily to-do lists?

  1. I do not make lists as they only seem to highlight my failure to follow through. Even when I do make lists of groceries to buy, or chores for hubby to do, they seem to always disappear. Congratulations for what you did accomplish!

    • Thanks, Maggie. I need my lists because they are essentially my brain – without them I would forget everything!

Oooo no! I get so disappointed when I don’t finish my lists lol but I constantly have lists on the go. Mostly for things I have to do for work. And every day I now have a list for the students in their agendas. Trying to get into the habit of submitting things online on time.

    • I have lots of lists too! Work lists, house chore lists, daily lists… but I wouldn’t remember half the things if I didn’t. Maybe when I’m not remembering everything for 4 people and only having to remember things for 2 people my brain will do better without a list, lol.

  3. I used to make lists when I was working, but these days only in my head. And FWIW, I rarely get through them! That’s life, eh?

    • Life gets in the way more often than not. At least with a list in your head you can adjust so it looks amazing at the end of the day 😉

  4. Sometimes you get a lot done, other days nothing…

  5. I’m very sorry, but it happens, 2021 has so much hope attached, especially for Americans like me, butMama said there’s be days like this

    • Oh, great song! Why didn’t I think of it when I was posting? In Oz it is already 6pm on the 20th and the day was just like another. Here’s hoping the same goes for you guys!

  6. 😂😂 oh the tasks of being a wife and mother!

  7. Details, please. What exactly did you do all day rather than your TODO list? Hmm??

    • Oh, I wish I knew, Jacqui *hanging head*. It just seemed to be one of those days where I was busy but nothing got done (it was a day where I was waiting for 2 tradies – you know, we’ll be there between 9am and 5pm…).
