For long time followers of my blog, you know that about this time every year, I bring you the Australia Day lamb advert. This year they are playing on Australia’s borders and covid. It’s nice to be able to be light-hearted about it.
For your viewing pleasure, here is the lamb advert for 2022 (some of these may be Aussie insider jokes, like the fact that the state of Western Australia has closed it’s borders to the rest of Australia for the past two years – let me know if you need explanation).
Make you want to through a cutlet on the barbie?
If you’d like to watch previous lamb ads, just search lamb in the blog search bar to your right π

We eat a lot of lamb in Australia. Actually, we eat lots of lamb, beef, pork, chicken and seafood in Australia, lol. Hence why they have to promote lamb.

Must be nice to live in a country that invites other to laugh with them; instead of us, who just seem to invite others to laugh at us.

It’s part of our culture, to be able to laugh at ourselves (“take the mickey”). Sadly, political correctness is destroying that part if us.

I’ll have to come back when I’m not at work to watch this, but it’ll probably be tomorrow as I have an optometrist appointment today and by the time my eyes un-dilate…

Oh, I hope the appointment went well. Those drops that dilate the eyes are horrid.

There are some really good ones. I particularly like last year’s and 2016 π

They get sillier each year! π I noticed some references to Aussie issues, such as French submarines. And βLook, backpackers, we wonβt have to pick our own fruit any more.β The WA thing started early, with βWell, 80 per cent, anyway.β Only Aussies would get that.

It was more Aussie this year than previous years, but still a lot of fun.
