In 2021 I’m answering a list of weekly journal questions. Read about it here.
Have hobbies? Share them with photos.
I have an awful lot of hobbies. The trouble is, I never have time to do them. The Barbarians are getting older, so I hope that means I will have more time on my hands eventually, but it’s hard to imagine that at the moment. Fingers crossed!
My hobbies are: scrapbooking, card making, cross stitch, crochet, sewing, photography, gardening, geocaching, drawing and painting, bushwalking, playing clarinet and piano and flute, baking. You know, I’ve probably missed some because it has been so long.
Below are a few photos that represent some of these.
What are your hobbies?

What used to be a hobby turned into my business. Other than that I kayak, bike, fish, tie flies to fish with, am remodeling the back room, and building furniture. Scientific pursuits also fit somewhere in there.
I don’t get a lot of spare time for my hobbies either, though I didn’t mention by biggest one; writing, currently trying to do a YA horror thing.

A hobby that becomes your job is the best outcome ever. You’re very lucky, BF.

It’s good to have hobbies. I hope you get more time to play at them sooner rather than later.

Me too! Barbarians are getting older all the time so it has to happen eventually.

Those are all wonderful hobbies! There’s probably a balance somewhere between having too much to do/not enough time vs. too much time/not enough to do. I’m ahead of you on the parenting curve, and I would gladly trade some of my hobby time for more time with my sons!
I never got into scrapbooking, and I would love to learn to crochet. I enjoy photography, hiking, low-stakes kayaking haha, and I’m relearning the violin after years and years of not playing it.

I bet I will feel the same way, Jenny, when my Barbarians have flown the nest. Although we have a number of universities, so I’ll have mine around for longer.
