Retreated

I recently talked about how I was heading off on retreat in mid-June. I had a wonderful time with my writing buddies and as always enjoyed the chance to focus on my writing without any of the distractions of everyday life.

Unfortunately I hurt my back, so writing was quite uncomfortable meaning my words didn’t come as fast as I’d hoped. But I still finished the retreat with nearly 5,500 words. That’s more than I started with so I can’t be unhappy, right?!

We followed our normal routine. Get up and work through to knock-off about 5pm, then tools (keyboard) down and we prepare dinner and sit down to watch a movie or tv show and have a chat.

All in all another successful retreat and I can’t wait for the next one.

Can you work through the mania of life or do you enjoy getting away to be able to focus on something without it?

  1. Glad you had a good time. It’s nice to get away from the distractions. I hope your back is feeling better.

    • Yeah, you don’t realise all the distractions until they aren’t there. My back is feeling much better, thank you xx
