New Year’s Not-resolutions

Since 2019 I haven’t made resolutions for the year ahead. Instead I’ve made SMART goals as you can read about in my 2021 post. Not surprisingly I didn’t quite reach all my goals – but considering it was another covid year, I am pretty happy with what I did achieve.

For 2022 I’m sticking to my not-resolutions, but I am also not making goals. It’s just too hard when the road ahead is so uncertain. If I can get to the end of 2022 feeling like I achieved something, then I reckon it will have been a good year.

Of course, there are things I’d like to have happen, so I’ll take steps towards those things. I’ll talk about those things as I make progress with them, but no pressure about having to get them done.

What about you, are you setting any goals or resolutions for 2022, or has covid worn you down as well?

I don’t make resolutions either, but I do have a few goals that I want to achieve in 2022. Granted they were ones that I had already started to put into place in 2021 haha and once omnicron settles down, I can start to act on them LOL

  2. I re-prioritize my goals, but they are the same goals as I always have.

I so want to be over COVID. It doesn’t matter what I want, though, we are stuck with it until COVID is done with us. That may be never, at least it feels that way.

    • I think everyone is rather resigned to covid never going away. We can only hope it mutates into something mild.

  3. No goals, no resolutions. Sigh. COVID is wearing me down, but since there’s not a lot of quit in me, that just means I find new ways to cope with it. Another sigh.

    • I think everyone has to become more resilient to covid life or we’ll all go mad. At year 3, I think it’s fair to have as a goal for the year to be “survive”.

  4. I’ve never done the New Year’s Resolution or Word o’ The Year thing. Happy New Year!

    • I’ve never done word of the year either. I can’t imagine there is one word that would encompass what I want my year to be.

  5. I don’t make resolutions. It’s too much pressure. I’d rather allow myself to start new goals as they occur to me, not at some time when things “must begin”.

    Hahaha! Yes!

  7. I love the fresh start of a new year, but I don’t do resolutions these days. I do choose a word of the year. Sometimes what feels right in January doesn’t hold up however, hah!

    • Especially when we’ve no idea how covid is going to affect life! Although I do think you’ve done a good job of sticking to your word of the year 🙂
