Holiday here

With international travel locked down for Australia (in and out) for at least this year, possibly longer, we will all be holidaying Down Under. To encourage us to explore our wonderful country, Tourism Australia has a “holiday here this year” campaign underway. I am loving this campaign, particularly the ad below, narrated by a favourite Aussie comedian, Hamish Blake.

I love my country. Australia really is wonderful.

Are you thinking about holidaying somewhere new-to-you in your home country this year?

  1. Hehe I like it! Such a cute commercial!

I wont be taking any holidays this year. I usually don’t lol “Holidays” for me are usually a long weekend at my parents.

But this year I won’t be going there. Unless we all have the vaccine a few months prior. And over my summer break I will get another job to try to pay off as much debt as possible and help with any moving expenses I might have if I am moving.

    • Same. Holidays for us are usually visiting my folks. But we do try and see new things, even for a day trip.

  2. Oh, I could find plenty to vacation in my home state, let alone the country. Not travelling, though. Not for the foreseeable future.

    • Yup, totally get that at the moment. We’re nervous about travelling and we have nothing on the conditions you guys have.

  3. Very nice! We should all explore our home countries more, especially now. Don’t get me wrong – I’m all for exploring the world too – but sometimes we forget how wonderful things can be in our own backyard.

    • As your recent photos would attest, Deb! Honestly, you don’t have need to go far for stunning scenery!

  4. That’s a great ad! Sadly, I have no travel plans in my state or anywhere else in the near future!

    • Sounds like you need a Staycation! BEcause the Territory I live in only has 1 city, Canberra, they are promoting staycations. It’s where you holiday in your own town – stay overnight at a B&B, or do things in the town you’ve never done before. It’s what we’re mostly doing to be honest.
