Paint & Pinot

On the weekend, I and a group of friends spent a hugely fun afternoon at Paint & Pinot. In the 3 hour session a professional artist takes you through a painting class (we all paint the same thing) – but it is a fun, social event, with a bar (hence the pinot) and food menu.

No experience or skill required (thank goodness!). For our session we were painting a llama (although I have christened mine Alfie the Alpaca). There were a few examples around the room:

It was a little nerve-wracking for the first few minutes, but after that I got into the swing of it and enjoyed myself immensely. Huge fun!

My finished painting may not be perfect, but I have hung him on a wall in the house.

My Alfie

All in all, I had a blast and would happily do this again. Have you done anything like this before? Would you?

  1. I love the original picture, as well as your interpretation. I’ve never heard of such an event. We have Build-a-Bear stores! Yeah, not quite the same.

    • Thanks, Jacqui. It was really interesting, because we all had the same instruction and we all had very different final results.

  2. It wouldn’t take much to change Alfie into a Ludo. If that happens I expect a Christmas card pf it.

  3. Yes! I have done these types of fun painting activities before. They are a great way to get over the nervousness of putting paint to canvas, in my opinion. Now I feel much freer to create my own artistic experiments at home.

  4. I have not, but if invited I would definitely attend. You llama turned out great.

    • Thanks, Liz. It’s a shame there’s an ocean between us, because I’d do it with you πŸ™‚

Oh my gosh SO CUTE!!!! Ive always wanted to try one of these nights haha but of course ours aren’t running right now. I have heard they have done virtual ones though.

    • Thanks, GF. I don’t think virtual would be the same. It was as much fun because of the shared experience, I think. When you get the chance, though, you should go πŸ™‚

  6. I think I will!

  7. Alfie is super cute. Well done, you!
Paint & Pinot, I like it!

  8. We have a couple of those places, but I’ve never been. Sounds like fun, and Alfie is very cute!
