Writing Away

Life has been as busy as ever so my poor neglected blog is still suffering. I think I will create a list of topics – I found I was much better when I had specific things to talk about.

In 2 days I fly across the country to the annual Romance Writers of Australia (RWA) conference . I know I don’t write romance, but this is the best genre conference in the country. This will be the first time since 2019 that I have been able to attend and I am looking forward to a big dose of writing talk (albeit through a mask).

Following conference I am going on a writing retreat to Rottnest Island. I am excited about this for 2 reasons – a writing retreat with one of my besties and Quokkas!! Don’t worry, you shall learn more about this after the fact because I will definitely report in.

So please excuse my absence from this blog and yours over the next little bit. I will return with a blogging schedule, so you should see more of me.

Have you got anything you’re looking forwards to in August?

  1. Start the schedule with a review of the two events!

  2. Have fun at the conference.

I know some bloggers participate in weekly memes. I think it helps them come up with topics. There’s Wordless Wednesday and Music Monday and Sky Watch Friday. Plus others. Just a thought if you’re not sure what to write about.

    • Thanks, Liz. I should look into them. I did look at the listy one you mentioned earlier, but I wasn’t sure I could come up with that many things!

  3. But we want to be amazed by you. Start by talking about you events, and have fun at them

    • Haha, I wish I was totally amazeballs. But hopefully I’ll find interesting things to talk about (I usually relat them to me anyway).

  4. My blog is also very neglected because I didn’t have much of a plan at the start of the year. It’s too easy for me to put it off in favor of other things.

Your writing events sound fun and energizing! I’ll look forward to reading about them!

    • Just home! Exhausted after a long day of travel, but I will start posting this week about my travels šŸ™‚

  5. I think the last conference you attended was when we met. I was very impressed with the program too, though Iā€™m not a romance writer either. If they ever have it in Melbourne again, I will try to go.
